Material and Durability (17/20)
The Samsonite Omni PC 28-inch luggage is constructed from 100% polycarbonate material and showcases the highest standard of plastic material for durability, lightweight design, and flexibility. The exterior of the Samsonite Omni PC 28-inch hardside spinner luggage features a scratch-resistant surface with a micro-diamond-textured finish.
Not only does it enhance the overall experience, but it also ensures that it remains in good condition even after rough handling and multiple trips. This does not seem like budget luggage, but a premium piece of luggage at a reasonable price.
Samsonite took even very small aspects of the luggage into consideration; therefore, they have given the expander zipper a red color to differentiate it from the main zipper so that we can easily and quickly identify the expander zipper when needed.
Organization and Storage (11/15)
This 28-inch piece of Samsonite Omni PC spinner luggage is a masterpiece of convenient travel. Its interior boasts two well-designed compartments for effortless packing and organization.
On one side, a secure zipper mesh divider keeps your belongings in place while traveling and is perfect for separating more delicate items or dirty laundry. On the other side, it has crisscross straps that offer additional organization options, ensuring clothes and accessories stay in place.
The luggage comes with a generous capacity of 3 to 4 weeks' worth of essentials and provides enough space. However, there is a drawback to the suitcase in that it offers limited organizational features except for the mesh divider and crisscross straps, which I definitely don't like in this luggage and may not be good for you either if you desire more compartments and pockets to store some small items.
When you arrive at your destination, you'll surely find everything folded and in place. The only thing I don't like is the unavailability of some pockets.

Essential Features (11/15)
Telescopic And Carry Handles
The Samsonite Omni PC hardside spinner, 28 inches, features a multi-stage handle equipped with a button that allows effortless maneuverability. The handle is not only smooth and durable but also offers the convenience of two different height positions. Whether you're tall or short, you can easily adjust the handle to match your preferred height.
Another thing that I really appreciate is that you can lock the handle when it's inside the luggage and not in use. It prevents unwanted movement during transit and ensures that the handle is in place.
Additionally, the luggage is also equipped with two convenient carry handles. There is one located at the top for easy lifting, and another on the side for effortless maneuvering in tight spaces. They provide comfortable grips and make the journey easier and more enjoyable.
Expansion Capability
In my experience, the most loved feature is the expansion of the Samsonite Omni PC 28-inch luggage, as this luggage features an impressive 2-inch expansion capacity that is surely bigger than any other luggage in the segment. The expansion can be used for extra souvenirs and essentials.
In order to expand the luggage for extra space, you just have to unzip the red zipper, and you'll get an extra 2 inches of expansion. This feature is especially useful for those who tend to pack more or are planning longer trips.
As a traveler, you can easily understand how important even a single inch is, and this can surely be a decisive factor for anyone.
360-Degree Spinner Wheels
With time, spinner wheels are getting more and more popular as they are really easy to glide on different types of surfaces, whether it's airports, offices, or smooth streets, and you won't feel any pain in your arm or shoulders.
If you had walked a long distance with a roller suitcase, then you would have realized how difficult it is to carry a suitcase that has only two wheels. The Samsonite Omni PC 28-inch hardside luggage comes with 360-degree spinner wheels, which means that you can move your luggage in any direction with almost no effort.
Whether you want to glide your luggage in front of you or beside you, you can do that very easily. Samsonite Omni PC provides great maneuverability on any surface, including airports, stations, streets, or even tight spaces.
But I've got a concern with the wheels. Samsonite could have given dual spinner wheels, as they have on the Samsonite Omni 2 spinner luggage. Because a dual-spinner wheel is always more stable than a single-spinner wheel and performs better on surfaces.
But more importantly, you should not forget that the wheels are the first thing to break in a suitcase. You should avoid sitting on it, especially when it's upright.
TSA Combination Lock
Another feature that the Samsonite Omni PC 28-inch spinner has is the TSA-approved combination lock from the Samsonite brand, which is side-mounted. The lock has been given to prevent any kind of theft, and it's capable to a certain extent.
But an ambitious thief can steal the suitcase or gain entry through the expandable cloth. You don't have to care much if your luggage isn't expanded. The default combination of the lock is either 000 or 999, and you can set your own combination.
Once you set the lock, no one except you and the TSA agent can access your luggage, and you'll have peace of mind. But always try to choose a combination that is easy for you to remember but difficult for anyone else to guess.
If you choose luggage that does not have a TSA-friendly lock, then the TSA agent may have to open your luggage forcefully, which can cause you damage.

Design and Appearance (13/15)
The best thing about this luggage is that you get a wide range of colors to suit individual preferences, from classic colors like black, navy blue, and gray to vibrant colors like bright pink, burnt orange, and nightshade purple. There is a color to match every personal style and make a statement. Color plays a big role during travel. here is the complete guide on why you need to choose the perfect color for your luggage.
Durability and longevity are the most impressive aspects of this luggage. Despite regular use and exposure to different types of travel conditions, the Samsonite Omni PC 28-inch expandable spinner luggage has proven to be a reliable companion.
Weight and Dimensions (7/10)
Models | Dimensions | Weight |
---|---|---|
Omni PC 20 Inch | Dimensions: 22 x 15 x 9.5 Inches | 6.81 lbs |
Omni PC 24 Inch | Dimensions: 26.5 x 17.75 x 11.75 Inches | 8.34 lbs |
Omni PC 28 Inch | Dimensions: 30.5 x 21.5 x 13.5 Inches | 10.5 lbs |
Weight and dimensions become crucial factors because of the airline's regulations. For carry-on luggage, the weight of the Omni PC is 6.81 lbs, which is even below the average weight of carry-on luggage of 6.93 lbs.
When it comes to the dimensions of the carry-on, it's 22 x 15 x 9.5 inches, which is very slightly bigger than most common airlines carry-on dimensions of 22 × 14 × 9 inches, which is very normal as the restrictions for hand luggage vary for different airlines.
For checked luggage, the most popular size restriction that most airlines follow is 62 linear inches. When we look at Samsonite Omni PC checked luggage, the 24-inch check luggage is within the set limit and follows the guidelines completely. However, the 28-inch checked luggage is slightly bigger by 3 inches.
But that's also normal as the regulations change from airline to airline. Most importantly, no owner of Samsonite Omni PC has ever faced any issue while carrying their luggage on any airline.
Price and Value (8/10)
When it comes to price, undoubtedly, the Samsonite Omni PC 28-inch hardside spinner luggage is one of the most affordable when compared to the competitors in the same category. If you try to find any other luggage in the same segment, there are high chances you'll end up buying a more expensive suitcase.
However, there are some other Samsonite suitcases from the same brand, such as the Samsonite Winfield 2 Fashion and the Samsonite Winfield 3 DLX. They are no doubt better at the organization, and upgraded options at almost equal prices can also be considered.
But personally, I prefer the design and appearance of the Samsonite Omni PC; in my experience, it's more stylish and appealing than those suitcases.
Warranty and Customer Support (10/15)
Samsonite is a well-established and trusted brand that has been on the market for over a hundred years. The brand is counted among the top companies in the luggage industry. So you trust the Samsonite brand for durability and reliability.
The benefit of choosing Samsonite luggage is that you'll get a 10-year global warranty; however, this warranty is only against manufacturer defects. So if your luggage is cracked or broken because of your mistake, it's unlikely to be covered under the warranty.
However, they'll repair your luggage even if it's not under warranty, but you may have to pay for it.
Samsonite Omni PC 28-Inch Alternatives: How does it compare with other suitcases?
Before making any final decision, it's always a good idea to do market research and look at similar products within the same budget. So if you compare the Samsonite Omni PC with any other suitcase from the same Samsonite brand, the Samsonite Freeform becomes an excellent and considerable option.
If you compare it with any other luggage brand, in my experience, the most suitable comparison can be with the Helium Aero of Delsey Paris. It has the ability to compete neck-to-neck with the Omni PC.
Samsonite Omni PC 28-Inch vs. Freeform 28-Inch
Samsonite Freeform is one of my favorite suitcases because of its futuristic aesthetics and excellent build quality. Though it is made of polypropylene, it offers the same level of quality as polycarbonate suitcases. Because it is made of polypropylene, it attracts scratches and scuffs easily; therefore, it requires some extra care.
Another important thing to note here is that the Freeform is lighter than the Omni PC, which makes it a good suitcase if you're a heavy packer and very concerned about the weight. It's more flexible than the Omni PC, which makes it even more durable.
It comes with all the necessary features that the Omni PC comes with. These features include a TSA lock, a multi-stage telescopic handle, and a dual spinner wheel. The TSA lock on Freeform looks more futuristic and modern than that of the Omni PC.
But the downside of the Freeform is that, comparatively, it's more expensive than the Omni PC. You'll notice a difference between $20 and $30, depending on the model you choose.
Samsonite Omni PC 28-Inch vs. Delsey Helium Aero 29-Inch
Similar to Samsonite, Delsey is also one of the most popular luggage brands. When we talk about Helium Aero, it's one of the most selling suitcases from the brand. If you look at the Delsey Paris Helium Aero, it feels more like premium luggage than any other budget luggage.
The luggage is made of the same polycarbonate material that is known for its durability. The finishing and aesthetics of the luggage are so good that it really looks elegant.
Besides design and aesthetics, it comes with a TSA lock, 360-degree double wheels, a sturdy handle, and almost all the required features. It's also expandable by 2 inches, which is decent compared to other suitcases.
And more importantly, the brand offers a 10-year limited warranty, so you won't have any problems if you face any issues with your luggage. The brand has covered you. Ultimately, Delsey Paris Helium Aero is also a considerable product.

The drawback of the Samsonite Omni PC 28-inch is that it doesn't offer better organization than its competitors. But on the other side, it does have all the features that a great suitcase must have, including a TSA-approved lock, 360 spinner wheels, an adjustable handle, and, more importantly, the biggest expansion capability, unlike its competitors.
In my experience, it's withstood the test of ups and downs and proved itself to be a great piece of luggage. You can surely have a look at this luggage, and it'll be a great investment for your travels.
